Lonely, searching, tears of blue.
Need something to look forward to.
Then you show up, a gentle man
with a kind smile and loving hands.

Salt and pepper, shades of gray
Eyes of brown take me away.
Make me forget a heart that's broke.
New feelings in me you evoke.

We walk and talk, I look at you
I'm thankful to find someone who
cares not about this mess that I
have made, you dry the tears I cry.

You take your hands, untie the strings
that hold me to him.  Though it stings,
I let your fingers touch this heart,
like brushstrokes on a work of art.

A canvas that started to fade,
under your touch I'm not afraid
to let you heal this heart of mine.
